Tottenham Hotspur confirm star signing from Dutch league

Tottenham Hotspur have this evening confirmed that they have signed Ajax superstar Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen joined Ajax when he was a teenager, despite having trials with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“My first step should not be too big,” he said. “I knew that playing in the Netherlands would be very good for my development. Then Ajax arrived and that was a fantastic option.”

Having gone from strength to strength since signing for Ajax for €1m, and at only 21-years-old, has a hugely bright future ahead of him.

Spurs offered £8m for the Dane but Ajax were demanding a fee of £12m.
