Transfer Shock: Chelsea Star Rejected New Contract, Manuel Pellegrini Luring Player to Man City

In a shocking development, Man City have joined the long list of clubs interested in Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The Serbian had been linked with a move away from the club, before a report from the Times suggested that the Blues are ready to offer a new one-year deal to the player.

But, now Daily Mail are claiming that Ivanovic is not happy with the offer on the table and wants a two-year deal with the club. Ivanovic’s demands are against the club’s policy of not offering a deal worth more than one year to players over 30.

The 31-year-old’s current contract runs out in the summer, and the reports claim that his stand-off with Chelsea over the new deal has alerted a number of clubs.

According to the report, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Zenit St Petersburg, and City are all keeping tabs on situation and Manuel Pellegrini has specifically asked to be kept informed of the developments in the situation.
Ivanovic has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the West London club this season.
