Two Defenders Leaving Gunners in Following Days, Wenger Placed Improved £5m for Talented Star to Secure 2nd Signing

Mathieu Debuchy, who has already announced his desire to leave Arsenal for better first-team chances has been approached by Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga club has made a bid for the Frenchman who is looking to gain more time on the pitch before the Euro 2016 in the summer.

The 30-year-old was close to moving to Premier League club Aston Villa, but they are not willing to pay the £1 million loan fee asked by Arsenal. Hence, Debuchy is likely to head to Germany in the hopes of more play time.

Following Monreal’s contract extension and becoming a regular in Wenger’s line-up, Kieran Gibbs who has found himself with less and less chances of starting in the first-team could request for a transfer this summer.

Gibbs has started in only two games this season, and with Monreal’s performance in the defence, his chances of being a regular look less likely.

Arsene Wenger is wary of possible departures of full-backs and is reported to be on the look-out for reinforcements.

Leicester defender, Ben Chilwell, has been approached by Wenger with a £3.5 million but it seems the Premier League leaders would ask for a higher bid.
