United closing in £295 Million swoop for Barcelona superstar, player to become wealthiest footballer in the world
Reports from the UK have revealed that Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a sensational swoop for Neymar, following ‘secret’ talks involving a total £295 million. The young Brazilian has been offered a whopping wage of £130 million pounds over a span of five years and it seems pretty evident that United are willing to pay an additional £165 million pounds to match the release clause in his current contract to get the striker on their team.
The report reveals that United grabbed the footballer’s attention with their grand offer and are currently negotiating with Neymar’s representatives. Meanwhile, United coach Louis van Gaal is known to have already spent £250m since his appointment last season and is believed to have an amount of £200 to spend this summer.
If the twenty-three year old decides to transfer to United from Barcelona, he would surely surpass the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to become the wealthiest footballer in the world. This would also be the world’s most expensive transfer fee, almost double the £85m offer snagged by Welsh footballer Gareth Bale to move to Real Madrid in 2013.
Does the Brazilian footballer deserve to have such an exorbitant price tag? Many would say yes after considering his contribution to Barcelona last season that eventually helped them win the treble. To nobody’s surprise, Neymar is currently leading the goalscoring charts in La Liga with 14 goals in 13 matches. He is also the joint-highest assist maker with five.
Following the not too impressive performances by Manchester United last season, this deal could most certainly turn out to be a game changer for the Red Devils who are in desperate need of help from anyone sources that they can find.
