Woodward going crazy – United lining up insane 100m Pound winter spending spree to sign three players and finally win EPL

Manchester United are rumoured to be lining up a massive 99m pound overhaul of their squad once the winter transfer window opens up. Italian publication Itasportpress have suggested that United boss Louis Van Gaal has identified three transfer targets that he thinks can change the fortunes of this stagnating club.

According to the report, Van Gaal has set his sights on Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and John Stones. The third player that he is considering going after is Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand. The trio of stars could cost around 100m pounds with Lukaku himself costing around half the sum.

With Lukaku rated at around 51m pounds, his Toffees teammate Stones is rated at 33m. Ryan Bertand would possibly cost 15m pounds. These three young and talented footballers are being seen as the missing pieces of the United jigsaw.

In-form forward Romelu Lukaku will be expected to form a partnership with Anthony Martial and/or Wayne Rooney while John Stones would be paired up with Chris Smalling at the heart of the United defence while Bertrand would be used to fill the hole that Luke Shaw has left.

Romelu Lukaku would have to be the man that United need the most right now. LvG’s men have hit the back of the net only 21 times in 16 Premier League games. Their top scorer at the moment is midfielder Juan Mata, whose scored just four times. Lukaku on the other hand has hit the back of the net 12 times in 16 League appearances.
Exactly how feasible these three deals could be for United remains to be seen but what is most interesting right now is does the United ownership trust LvG with this massive a transfer kitty? Only time will tell.
