Van Gaal makes shocking claim about sensational Man Utd star – should we sack him now?
Louis Van Gaal appears to have lost the plot a little when talking about his own players. He made some questionable comments when talking about one of Manchester United’s stars of the season, Marcus Rashford, claiming the youngster is not ready to be part of the first team.
The Manchester United faithful are already disappointed with LVG after a less-than-convincing season which has seen them struggle with inconsistency and failure to find form. The United fans might now be even more upset with him after criticizing one of their own.
United fans have always enjoyed an attacking style of play that brings goals and big wins, but LVG seems to have played a more cautious style of play that some feel has not suited the clubs star players.
He has had some success in bringing youth players into the first team, with many different players getting a chance to shine when the big names weren’t playing so great. Now he risks the wrath of the fans by telling everyone that Rashford isn’t quite ready to be a star yet.
He was asked about Under-21 side who recently won their own league and said:
“They are not ready, I’m sorry, also Marcus Rashford is not ready. He knows that, he can learn a lot, you need always guts to put youngsters in the squad and also in the line-up, but of course the academy and all the academy coaches have the credits for these players, also the scouts who have discovered these boys, they have credits, and I am a little part of it but that part is important because you need the guts to do that.”
Is he right not to put pressure on the youngsters? Or should the hierarchy bring in Jose now?
