Vidal to Arsenal 90% Done According To Spanish Outlet

For Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the last two summers , read Arturo Vidal this summer. Arsene Wenger has seemingly accepted his fallacy in going for talented, young but yet unproven rough diamonds over the years , and has been targeting proven winners recently. It has been a welcome change for their fans too, who have watched Arsenal defy their burgeoning reputation as a perennial feeder club and go on to sign two superstars of the football world.

It is no coincidence that their arrival has led to Gunners breaking their long trophy drought and winning consecutive FA Cups.

In his penultimate season at the club , time is fast running out for Wenger for a final tilt at the title , and if reports in the Spanish outlet COPE are to be believed, they may have as good a chance of doing it this year as they have had in a long time , not since the club moved to Emirates.

The Spanish broadcaster reports that Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is 90% certain to join Arsenal from Juventus this summer, after the two clubs agreed a €30 million fee over the weekend. An announcement is imminent, with Vidal, who is touted as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game, set to join Petr Cech in the list of Arsenal newcomers this week.

Vidal, a winner of four consecutive Scudetti with Juventus , since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011 , is set to sign a five-year deal with the Gunners amid interest from rivals Manchester United.

The player is currently involved with Chile at Copa America , where his compatriot Alexis Sanchez has been imploring him to sign for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has reportedly spoken with the player himself , which is seemingly responsible for influencing Vidal to choose Arsenal over United. The 28-year-old has been the driving force in the midfield for the Old Lady for the past four seasons , and scored 8 goals and created 4 assists in 45 appearances for the Bianconeri last season.

As the old adage goes, Juventus’ loss is Arsenal’s gain.
