Welcome To Emirates – Arsenal Set To Complete Signing Of £95,000-A-Week

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been tipped to lead his charges for a title tilt this season, and the Frenchman knows he needs to bring in top quality players if their objective is to be achieved.

Several players have been linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer, with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema their leading targets. However, another striker is reportedly on his way to the Emirates.

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi has been offered to Arsenal this summer, as per reports, and the Argentine could be a Gunner in the coming days. Of all their attacking targets, Lavezzi is a cheaper option for Arsenal as the other linked players are expected to cost nothing less than £40m.

Lavezzi is also a target for Manchester United and Arsenal and he has been deemed surplus to requirements at PSG, with the arrival of his compatriot Angel Di Maria. The former Manchester United winger joined the Ligue 1 outfit for £44.1m after suffering an alarming loss of form in England.

A former stalwart of the Napoli team, Lavezzi also joined PSG in 2012 alongside Edinson Cavani and the bearded Argentine has been in and out of the Parisien’s starting eleven. He has so far scored 20 goals in 91 appearances. Lavezzi is valued at £8.5m by PSG, and if Arsenal pay that fee the 30-year old will soon be one of Wenger’s charges.

The attacker was also an integral member of the Napoli team before his move to PSG, scoring 38 goals in 156 appearances for the Serie A side. His impressive performances alerted several European sides then but the Paris-based club eventually won his signature.

With the transfer window only a matter of days away from closing, the Gunners would have to quickly seal the deal for the Argentina international striker.
