Arsenal are close to sealing the transfer of Inter Milan’s Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after talks about a January move took place according to the Daily Express.

Premier League title favourites Arsenal have been plagued by injuries to several top performers such as Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla with both players expected to be out until the new year thus underlining the need for immediate reinforcements in the transfer window next month.

Marcelo Brozovic, 23, has struggled for playing time with the Serie A leaders this season under their Italian manager Roberto Mancini making just 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals.

The Croatian international is widely expected to be allowed to move on from the Italian club as long as potential suitors such as Arsenal and Crystal Palace pay more than the £5m transfer fee used in signing him at the beginning of 2015.
