Sir Alex Ferguson could play a key role part in convincing Cristiano Ronaldo to make a long-awaited return to Manchester United, according to reports in Spain. Marca claims that Sir Alex is would very much like for a deal to be done and will use his close relationship to lure Ronaldo to Old Trafford.
The pair allegedly met in early November to discuss a potential return to Old Trafford, and it’s also claimed that Ferguson is working with the Glazers in an advisory capacity; with a big focus on buying back Ronaldo. Looking at recent happenings, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain look like the front runners for Ronaldo’s signature.
There is of course the option of Ronaldo staying at Madrid, and Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, said of the Portuguese leaving the Bernabeu: “It is impossible. He will end his career at Real Madrid.” The mill prefers to focus on Louis van Gaal saying: “We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly ungettable. With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.”
A return to Old Trafford would be a big boost for Manchester United as they would have arguably one of the world’s top 2 players in their team and Ronaldo will look to replicate his past performances for Manchester United and even better them as he has gained more experience.
