Welcome To Old Trafford – Man United Set To Sign German Attacker – Not Muller

Manchester United are ready to swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to the Metro. Kroos, 25, joined the Spanish giant last summer from Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich. The German International had an excellent debut campaign with the Los Blancos, despite the club failing to win any major trophy.

However, Metro has it that the Red Devil boss Louis van Gaal is extremely keen to bring Kroos to Old Trafford this summer. The Newspaper reports that Madrid’s number eight could be sold as Los Blanco are in debt worth 500 million pounds.

However, Kroos moving to Manchester United would be one big surprise signing. Firstly, The German pass master is a vital member of the Madrid’s first team, with the German replacing Xabi Alonso as the club’s new deep lying playmaker.

Furthermore, United already are stocked up in the midfield area with the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin joining up with the likes of Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick at Old Trafford. So this may amount to a needless transfer.

Kroos first season was quite impressive. He created 70 chances, registered seven assists, he completed 70% of his passes, No Madrid player completed more passes than him (2101). Only Cristiano Ronaldo (73) and James Rodriguez (77) created more chances than him. But he was one of Los Blanco’s most creative players. He also completed 83% of his take-ons in La liga last season.
