Welcome To Old Trafford – Manchester United Set To FINALLY Sign A Striker

The Red Devils could soon be signing a striker before the close of the transfer window, with long-term target Saido Berahino pushing for a West Bromwich Albion exit, according to reports.

Berahino was left out of the squad that lost 2-3 to Chelsea last Sunday, and it is thought manager Tony Pulis is about to emulate his counterpart Roberto Martinez to take a firm stance on the striker. Martinez has been resolute against selling defender John Stones to Chelsea, and Pulis, once of Stoke City, is also ready to do the same.

The England striker has now appeared to have broken ties with the Baggies, after unfollowing the club on Twitter.

Tottenham are also known admirers of Berahino and have seen two bids rejected by West Brom. Chairman of the Baggies said: “There are two big reasons why he will not be sold.

“Firstly, had we ever entertained the notion of selling him, we have not received an offer anywhere attractive enough from Tottenham Hotspurs.

Not only have the offer been too low as a valuation of the player, but they have been based on stage payments and add-ons over a long period which do nothing to reflect Saido’s ability and potential.”

Peace’s statements seem to mean Spurs offered a relatively low amount to Berahino’s valuation and this means Manchester United could hold the trump cards if they meet West Brom’s valuation before the deadline of the transfer window.
