Welcome To Old Trafford – Manchester United To COMPLETE £17.6m Signing

In a shocking turn out of events, Manchester United are believed to be close to signing Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia. Despite the addition of midfielders like Morgan Schneirderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, United are reportedly a step closer into signing the Argentine. According to reports the Red Devils had a bid of £17.6 million pounds for Lucas Biglia turned down by Lazio.

The Italian club claimed the offer was not good enough for the Argentine and have slammed a £28 million pounds price tag on the 29 year old. The authenticity of this news seems very unlikely due to the number of midfielders present in the United squad. Moreover Louis Van Gaal has already pointed out the urgency for the Red Devils to purchase fast and creative players. 29 year old Lucas Biglia might be creative but clearly the Argentine does not possess the pace.

Louis Van Gaal would be better off turning his sights to another Argentine in the form of Ezequiel Lavezzi. The 30 year old is blessed with pace as well as creativity and will be a very good addition to the Manchester United squad. El Pocho as he is fondly called is known for his dribbling ability and hardworking style of play. The Argentine is a very disciplined player that can excel under Louis Van Gaal’s philosophy due to his ability to carry out instructions well. With the addition of Di Maria to PSG and the likes of Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore already ahead of him in pecking order, the 30 year old winger will be surplus to requirements at PSG, which means United can get him cheap. Lavezzi might not be up to Manchester United standard but if Manchester United are ready to waste their money to sign Lucas Biglia they might as well just snap up Lavezzi who is a better option.
