It’s coming somewhat of a sideshow – but this summer in the transfer market has somewhat been over shadowed by Manchester United and who they will or will not sign. After selling Dutch striker Robin Van Persie, the Reds have been linked with a host of players such as Cavani of PSG and Benzema of Real Madrid.
One thing is for certain though and that’s the lack of forwards at Man United Louis Van Gaal’s disposal. In fact on United’s current tour of the US, they only have club captain Wayne Rooney and young starlet James Wilson as options to call on.
As well as Van Persie been shown the exit door, Chilean forward Andre Enrique Hernandez was also shown the door as well despite boasting of a good goal return last year while out on loan for Dinamo Zagreb.
One player Manchester United have been linked with is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski who has also played for Munich’s arch rivals has built a reputation as one of the most feared strikers in Europe.
Such a deal will be difficult to pull off especially since Sebastian Schweinesteiger who is a former team mate of the Pole’s, left for Old Trafford. However comments from Lewandowski’s agent has lead a cause for optimism.
