Welcome To Stamford Bridge – Abramovich Sanctions £49.6m Signing For Chelsea

Chelsea are keen on signing Germany World Cup hero according to reports. The Premier League champions are preparing a bid of £49.6 million to secure the services of the Bayern Munich attacking midfielder, Mario Gotze.

Gotze is rumoured to be facing an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, and Chelsea have moved swiftly to capitalise on the situation after the midfielder’s agent critised Bayern management.

As per the Independent, “Volsker Struth sparked various transfer rumours after telling a newspaper that Bayern boss Pep Guardiola has ‘destroyed’ Germany’s World Cup final hero.”

A host of European clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring the situation. According to the Daily Star, Bayern would only let Gotze go for £48 million.

Having signed Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Doneskt this summer, the Bundesliga champions may decide to sell Gotze, as he may be deemed surplus to requirements.

The former Dortmund star moved joined Bayern Munich in 2013 and has failed to nail down a first team place. D. Costa’s arrival may also spur Gotze to move on.

The 23-year old Gotze is one of the best young players in the world, possessing dribbling abilities, speed and technique. He can play as a left or right winger, and also as an attacking midfielder.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen on Real Madrid’s star, Isco and have already made a £20 million bid which was immediately rejected by Los Blancos.

Mario Gotze won the BuLi twice with Dortmund (2011-12/2012-13), before moving to Bayern. With the Bavarians, Gotze has also been BuLi champion twice (2013-14/2014-15), DFB Pokal Champion once (2013-14), UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup both in 2013.
