Welcome To Stamford Bridge? Chelsea Reignite Interest In Antoine Griezmann

After reportedly agreeing a season-long loan for Radamel Falcao, Jose Mourniho seems not done with his transfer this window as the Portuguese is set to renew interest in French international and Atletico Madrid winger, Antoine Griezmann, according to the Times newspaper.

Griezmann, who has a £43 million release clause, will be available for transfer provided the Blues are ready to meet his club’s demand. While the fee may not be a big problem for Chelsea, the club’s major problem is in offloading Griezmann’s countryman, Loic Remy in order to make room for his signature this summer.

Griezmann signed for Atletico from Real Sociadad last season, and scored 22 goals in 37 La Liga matches. His ability to play across various areas in the attack may have caught the attention of Chelsea, who are in the market to strengthen the team as they prepare to defend a title they won last season.

Loic Remy, according to the Times, is unsettled following speculations linking his club with a move for Radamel Falcao. The imminent arrival of the Monaco is thought to be the reason why Remy is unsettled, and this is only natural considering how much Jose Mourinho rates him.

Chelsea are unlikely to stand in the way of Remy should he wish to leave the Blues this summer; which could give way for the signing of Griezmann before the close of the current transfer window.

Signing Griezmann will definitely add more firepower to the current Chelsea team, and will further make the team more formidable as they hope to retain the EPL title they won last season.
