Welcome To Stamford Bridge – Chelsea To Sign UCL Winner In January

Chelsea full-back Branislav Ivanovic faces a lot of uncertainties about his future and the recent reports coming out of England should throw the Serbian’s further into further uncertainty. According to reports, the Blues  are lining up a move for Real Madrid’s right-back Dani Carvajal as a potential successor to Branislav Ivanovic.

The Blues defence have conceded close to half of the number of goals that they conceded throughout last season in just 6 matches. The Chelsea defence has been ridiculed with all type of faults this season and the right side of the Chelsea seems to posses the greater part of the fault. Ivanovic poor start to the season has seen the Serbian getting beaten on numerous occasions by opposition attackers. Most wingers that square up against Ivanovic nowadays tend to have a easy run against the 31 year old due to his dip in form.

This dip in form has not gone unnoticed by Jose Mourinho who has sent scouts to look for viable options to boost his right back options and Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal seems to be spear-heading that list. Dani Carvajal could tempted to be re-united with his former boss Jose Mourinho who handed him his debut while at Real Madrid.

The competition provided by Danilo for the Madrid right back position could tilt the advantage of landing Carvajal in the favour of Chelsea. The offer of first-team football at Chelsea with Ivanovic past his prime as opposed to being behind Danilo in pecking order could be difficult to turn down for the Spaniard. However, Real Madrid would not allow Carvajal leave cheaply having just signed a new contract until 2020.
