Welcome To The Emirates – Arsenal On The VERGE Of Signing WORLD CLASS Star

According to Bild, the Gunners are once again trying their luck in the race to lure one of Europe’s most sort-after attacking midfielders, Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund of Germany this summer.

The club’s sudden change in transfer plan may have been influenced by the negative report coming out of Spain regarding the decision of number 1 target, Karim Benzema, who has chosen to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.

According to Bild, the Gunners are prepared to shatter their transfer record of £42 million to sign the lethal forward before the close of the current transfer window in August.

Bild is known to be one of the most reputable media outlets in Germany, but fans may struggle to believe this story, especially when you consider how the Muller to Man United story failed to materialise. However, transfer stories are unpredictable, and deals that were thought impossible have gone ahead to be confirmed by clubs and players in the past.

Marco Reus is a player, whose name continues to be linked with the Gunners, with the press in both England and Germany insisting that an interest does exist. Though, Karim Benzema seems to be the club’s number one transfer target this summer, signing a player like Reus would definitely be regarded as a significant upgrade on our current set up.

The transfer fee being quoted by Bild is £48 million; a figure that may not frighten the Gunners, considering the huge TV money each club in England is set to receive.
