Welcome To The EMIRATES – Arturo Vidal Set To Join Arsenal For £28.5m
According to the Metro, Real Madrid may have pulled out of the race to sign Chile and Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal. The Juventus midfielder, who is currently with his teammates in the ongoing Copa America, is a player highly on demand.
The paper reports that Madrid’s decision may have been based on the South American drunk driving behaviour, which landed him in court earlier in the week. The paper reports that Vidal’s agent has held talks with the Gunners, and his club are believed to be mulling over selling the highly-rated midfielder for £28.5million.
Vidal, who was this week arrested and charged to court for drunk-driving, was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United summer before the deal fell through. The Metro quoted reports in Spain as its source; and if true, could be one of the best piece of news for most Arsenal fans, who may not like the idea of having to compete with a big club like Madrid over the transfer of a quality player like Vidal.
What a massive signing Vidal would be for a club like Arsenal, who have their eyes set on winning the EPL title next season. Should this transfer materialize, Arsenal would be transformed into a force to be reckoned with amongst other top four teams in the English Premier League. Recall that last summer, the Gunners signed Vidal’s team mate in the national team, Alexis Sanchez, who went ahead to have a splendid season.
