Wenger Confident Of Signing £120,000-A-Week UCL Winner

Arsenal are on the verge of seeing off other clubs for the signature of Chelsea’s safe pair of gloves, Peter Cech, according to the Daily Mail.

Cech, whose role in the Blue’s team has been limited to the bench due to Mourinho’s preference for Thibaut Courtois, is set to make the switch to North London as early as next week if the report on the Daily Mail is to be believed. The paper wrote that the Gunners are pushing hard to complete an £11million deal, which will see the 33-year old Champions’ Cup winner sign for the club.

Though, 33, Cech still has a lot to offer the Gunners considering his years of experience, and the fact that he still hungry for more honours. The paper also added that Wenger is confident of pushing through the deal as he sees Cech as the player he needs to realize the club’s dream of winning the EPL title next season. Arsenal have already made a formal inquiry about the availability of the goalkeeper, and are hoping to accelerate moves in the coming days.

Though, the Blues were a bit reluctant to let the player move to a rival club—the coast now seems clear as Cech seems bent on making the deal happen. Next weeks discussion, according to the report, is centred on finalising a transfer fee, with the Blues holding out for a figure said to be in the region of £10 million.

Cech is said to favour Arsenal over French Champions, PSG, understandably due to the fact that his family is settled in London.

If all goes as planned, the 33-year old should be an Arsenal player by the end of the current transfer window.
