Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are 2 of the best attacking players on their day. Both have the proved ability to tear defenses apart, score breathtaking goals and provide impossible passes into the box. They both have 2 years to run on their contracts and they are both apparently stalling on new contract talks.
Arsene Wenger has tried to dispel any rumors about them leaving, stating that they will both sign new contracts in the summer and that they are both happy in North London. Both players signed for huge transfer fees, signing from Real Madrid and Barcelona, adding flair and class to the Arsenal team.
The Mirror states that both players are close to coming to an understanding with Arsenal and deals have been offered that would take Ozil up to £160,000-a-week with big bonuses. Sanchez will be offered a similar deal.
Arsene Wenger has moved to dispel any rumors that the duo would be moving on this summer due to Arsene Wenger’s lack of spending. Some say that Sanchez is tempted by a reunification with his international teammate, Arturo Vidal, at Bayern Munich.
“These two players have two years on their contract at the end of the season. We are not in a hurry. We are talking and the players are very keen to stay.”
Some fans are calling for Wenger’s resignation after another trophy-less season with many fans feeling deflated about the flying start and sudden implosion of form. Wenger might need to make big moves in the transfer market if he is to be competitive next year, and he will certainly need to keep Ozil and Sanchez happy.
