Chelsea To Hold Discussion With Juve Over Paul Pogba
Mino Raiola, agent of Juventus midfield powerhouse Paul Pogba has handed Chelsea a huge boost in the race for his client by confirming Barcelona have not entered into negotiations with them for the signature of the Frenchman, as reported by the Express.
Pogba, 22, joined Juventus in the summer of 2012 from Manchester United and has become a pivotal member of the Bianconeri, helping Massimiliano Allegri’s side clinch three Scudettos and also get to the Champions League final in Berlin last season.
Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United were rumoured to be keen on the Frenchman in the summer, but the Blues were the only club who chased the Juve midfielder until the close of the transfer window.
However, reports in Spain claim Barcelona have an agreement in place to take Pogba to the Nou Camp next year.
But super agent Raiola – who handles the affairs of Pogba – has now debunked the claims, and has welcomed offers from other sides.
“An agreement with FC Barcelona? Absolutely not,” Raiola told French news outlet Le Parisien.
“Those who want him should sit with Juventus and then we’ll see.
“This summer, there were three of four clubs interested, but he chose to stay at Juventus.”
Chelsea could do with the addition of Pogba in their midfield, with the Blues current crop of midfielders delivering below-par performances this season.
However, they will have to act swiftly as fellow Premier League side Manchester City are also keen on the France international midfielder.
