While Mesut Ozil is probably enjoying the best season of his career so far, Eden Hazard has been suffering from a season he might want to forget.
The Chelsea midfielder has been marred with poor performance, inability to score goals and even create chances. His performance so far has been muted and he might be headed out to La Liga.
Despite his poor form in the current season, Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has stated that the Belgium international ‘gives him the most’ when he watches him in International matches.
Eden Hazard has responded to this by acknowledging praise from the Frenchman. Speaking to Belgian website Sudinfo.be, Hazard said, ‘It’s always nice to hear that a player that I admired during my childhood talks about me.’
He was also asked about a possibility of playing under Zidane, to which he said, ‘Yes of course. When I was little, I watched him on television and the internet for hours.
‘I talked Zidane and I ate Zidane. But, and I repeat it, I feel very good at Chelsea so it’s not news.’
Even though Hazard has clearly stated he is satisfied at Chelsea, it seems it would be difficult for him to refuse the opportunity to be coached by Zidane. Especially when the latest rumours suggest Abramovich is eager to sell Belgian star for a mere £20m.
