Manchester United will return to Real Madrid with an improved offer for Sergio Ramos, according to reports.<\/p>\n
Metro understands United are preparing a mammoth take-it-leave-it offer of \u20ac45 for Ramos, as they look to strengthen their defence. Louis van Gaal wants to bring in the experience defender to his team as they go all out for the Premier League title next term.<\/p>\n
Ramos has been the subject of a transfer tussle between United and Madrid with the Spanish club not ready to sell unless a \u20ac90 million offer comes in.<\/p>\n
Madrid, of course, believe United can fork out a sum as huge as that, hence their stance of that valuation. The ten-time European champions are, on the other hand, keen to land Man United goalkeeper, David De Gea.<\/p>\n
De Gea has been a top target for Los Blancos after he turned down a \u00a3200,000 a week package to remain at Old Trafford. United are reportedly holding out for a fee believed to be in the region of \u00a330 million, while Madrid want to pay only \u00a315 million for the goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
Both clubs have been locked in negotiations for the pair, and various reports have claimed a swap deal plus cash might be what the two clubs would resort to.<\/p>\n
Ramos, 28, called United boss, Louis Van Gaal a couple of days ago to reassure him he is still interested in moving to England this summer. Madrid will however not sell unless their valuation of the defender is met (AS).<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Van Gaal’s search for a world-class striker after the departures of Radamel Falcao and Robin Van Persie will soon come to an end.<\/p>\n
The Sun chipped in with reports last night that United have agreed to trigger Chris Benteke’s release clause, and are hopeful of completing the deal next week.<\/p>\n
With the ESPN also claiming Man United are set to beat Liverpool to the Belgian’s signature, the move seems imminent.<\/p>\n
Liverpool are also been linked with the 24-year ex-Genk striker but the Anfield boss, Brendan Rodgers, was deterred by the \u00a332.5 million asking price. Despite recently pocketing \u00a349 million naira from the sale of Raheem Sterling to Man City, the Anfield club are still baulking at the price of Benteke.<\/p>\n
The Aston Villa forward dropped a hint that he fancies a move to United on twitter yesterday by favouriting a tweet linking him with a move to the Old Trafford club.<\/p>\n
Benteke’s aerial prowess and strong hold-up play will, no doubt, benefit United’s pacy wingers in Depay and Di Maria, if the latter does not leave.<\/p>\n
