Arsene Wenger’s side were apparently dealt a heavy blow before the game against Liverpool last night. It had been reported Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema would have complete the move to Arsenal before then but ironically, the Los Blancos forward gave Arsenal and their fans one demoralising and humiliating blow by supposedly calling them “clowns”.<\/p>\n

Arsenal are now looking to move on from the disappointment to bring in three of their top targets this week.<\/p>\n
Edinson Cavani is set to fly into London to undergo a medical at Arsenal, according to reports. The Uruguayan is said to be unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain as he feels manager Laurent Blanc is misusing him on the flanks and he wants to be the team’s main striker. With the French boss not yielding and sticking with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his centre-forward, the former Napoli striker has been deemed available for \u00a335m. Both clubs have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee and Cavani will be a Gunner in the coming days.<\/p>\n
Another PSG player who has been a long-term target for Arsenal is midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The youngster is said to be unhappy at the Parc des Princes due to less game time, as he is behind Marco Veratti in the pecking order. With the Paris side reportedly close to signing Grzegorz Krychowiak – another Arsenal target – from Sevilla, PSG will let Rabiot leave this summer and the Gunners will close the signing this week.<\/p>\n
At 20, the versatile Frenchman has what it takes to rival Francis Coquelin in the Arsenal DM position, although he can also play a number of roles in the midfield. In July, Rabiot’s mother claimed her son will be leaving PSG this summer, opening up a clear chance for Arsenal to pounce.<\/p>\n
“Adrien wants to have a career at PSG,”Veronique Rabiot had told French outlet Canal Supporters.<\/p>\n
“But it’s not possible. Are PSG trying to tarnish Adrien because we asked for a transfer?<\/p>\n
“If Adrien leaves PSG, he is not leaving for the sake of leaving, he is leaving in order to play.”<\/p>\n
Rabiot has been a long-term Arsenal target for a while now linked but the transfer has failed to materialise. The 20-year old is highly rated in France and he featured 21 times in the Ligue 1 for PSG last term, scoring four goals. However, he wants to move on as he is looking for more game time.<\/p>\n
Metro claimed some weeks back that the Gunners are lining up a \u00a320m offer for the France Under-21 defensive midfielder, and it is understood that offer has been accepted.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Arsenal appear to have won a last-minute battle with PSG for the transfer of Grzegorz Krywchowiak, reports suggest. The back-to-back FA Cup winners are believed to have made a \u00a322m bid to land the Sevilla midfielder, after an Arsenal delegation attended the UEFA Super Cup clash with Barcelona earlier this month in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n
The Polish’s buy-out clause reportedly stands at \u00a321.26 and the Gunners have been keen on the him for 18 months as Wenger wants to sign a defensive midfielder who would provide competition for Francis Coquelin. Stellar Group agency, who also look after Manchester City’s Joe Hart and Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale signed Krychowiak earlier in the summer and it is understood the Sevilla midfielder will be open to switching to a Premier League club who competes regularly in the Champions League – which Arsenal do.<\/p>\n
The 25-year old joined Sevilla last season and had a successful debut at the club, helping the La Liga side qualify for this season’s Champions League courtesy of the winning the Europa League, thereby establishing himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Spain top division. Krywochiak played 32 times for Sevilla last term, winning 82 tackles from an attempted 179. He was also a threat in aerial duels, as he won 71% of them.<\/p>\n
