\"Matic\"<\/a>Chelsea on-loan youngster Lewis Baker has revealed how the Blues always keep touch of their loanees, saying the West London club usually send scouts to watch every Vitesse games, according to Voetball International.<\/p>\n

Baker has been with Chelsea for the past ten years and only made one senior appearances before his loan spell at Vitesse – his third. The Blues’ loan policy has often received flaks as most of the young talents they sign and then ship out on loan always fail to make it to the Chelsea first team.<\/p>\n

Now Baker is not among those criticising the policy as he believes the London club have plans for him and other loanees. The young Englishman said the whole system is very professional and that players always receive feedback from scouts on how they are doing.<\/p>\n

“I’ve not spoken with Mourinho but he knows that I am in good hands,” <\/em>Baker said.<\/p>\n

“There is a group of scouts who follow us [the loan players] in every game.<\/em><\/p>\n

“We receive specific match feedback and comments. It’s not like they said go to Arnhem and get on with it. They are quite professional.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Baker is not the only Chelsea player out on loan at Vitesse, as fellow UEFA Youth League winners Izzy Brown and Dominic Solanke are also at the Dutch outfit. Summer signing Nathan also joined Vitesse on a loan deal during the summer.<\/p>\n

Baker, 20, is suitably one of the best performers for Vitesse this season, scoring twice in the league and providing 13 chances. The England youth will now be hoping his performances put him in good stead for getting an opportunity of featuring in Jose Mourinho’s team next season.<\/p>\n

In all fairness, it is clear that Chelsea indeed have plans for their on-loan youngsters, of which Baker is one. This is contrary to the beliefs that the Blues usually want to sell those players at the end of their loan spells in order to generate some windfalls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
