Arsene Wenger is a genius when it comes to bringing young talent to Arsenal. He has an eye for identifying key players, way before their own clubs recognises the potential they possess. Wenger brought Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona at the age of 16 and developed him into a world class midfielder. His quality got Barcelona interested as they lured him back to his former club in 2011, where he continued to impress. If there is anyone who is responsible for his successful career, it is Wenger.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Wenger is now interested in yet another Barcelona youngster, Sergi Samper. According to Spanish reports, Arsenal is aiming to make a bid for the player in January.<\/p>\n
Samper plays as a defensive midfielder, and has made multiple appearances for Barcelona this season. However, he is yet make his mark in La Liga, as he is still waiting to make a debut in the Spanish domestic league.<\/p>\n
According to Spanish newspaper, Diario Sport, Arsenal is planning to make a bid of \u20ac6million (\u00a34.4m), but the youngster has \u20ac12m (\u00a38.85m) as his release clause in his contract.<\/p>\n
Samper made his Champions League debut in September 2014. He has also made appearances in Champions League this season, starting in December\u2019s fixture against Bayer Leverkusen. He also appeared as a substitute in November, against AS Roma that Barcelona won 6-1.<\/p>\n
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique also gave the 20 year old a chance to make his mark in Copa del Rey and Club World Cup this season.<\/p>\n
The Spain International has made regular appearances for Barcelona B side and has played in 14 matches in Spanish third tier this season. He has been a part of the national team in Under-16 competitions and also represented Spain as an Under-21 player.<\/p>\n
Sergi will hope to make to become a more regular figure at Barcelona but a chance to get regular appearances at Arsenal might lure him away. That said, the Spanish giants might be reluctant to part ways with him.<\/p>\n
