The midfielder has returned to first-team line-up and has become one of the regulars under Guus Hiddink.<\/p>\n<p>Obi Mikel ran out of favour under Jose Mourinho, and was never offered a new deal because of this. However, now with only a year remaining in his existing contract, the Blues are reportedly keen on keeping him at Stamford Bridge and are set to offer him an extension.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria international was being linked with a move away from Chelsea last month considering lack of first team chances. However, now Chelsea are worried and want to prevent other clubs from making an offer for the player.<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old was responsible for Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s opening goal in Chelsea\u2019s Champions League knock-out stage fixture earlier this week. His foul on Lucas Moura led to a free-kick that Zlatan Ibrahimovi\u0107 converted into a goal.<\/p>\n<p>Mikel redeemed himself for his error after he scored an equaliser just before half-time.
