Looking to defend their Premier League crown next season Chelsea\u2019s new kit can serve as a way to unite the fans and players in that quest. With the home shirt the designers at Nike went back to the basics to get the best results. They kept to a minimalist design but also took inspiration from the club\u2019s history to piece together the kit. They ensured that the blue colour of the home kit was a perfect match to that of the 1970\u2019s as well as adding a few key details to tie into the tradition of the Chelsea home kit.<\/p>\n

The both home and away shirts also feature \u2018CHELSEA FC\u2019 on the neck of the shirt along with adding \u2018THE BLUES\u2019 and \u2018EST. 1905\u2019 to the insides of each cuff to give the shirt an even more nostalgic feel.<\/p>\n

Their away shirt takes a step into the more recent history of the club. The colour scheme represents the club\u2019s increasing amount of silverware in the 21st<\/sup> century which has seen them lift 18 trophies in the men\u2019s team, 3 in the women\u2019s team and 4 F.A. Youth Cups for the academy.<\/p>\n Blue ventilation stripes also feature on both kits to assist players in games as it helps to regulate their body temperature, expanding as the players move about the pitch. This is made possible with the use of Nike\u2019s Aeroswift Technology which sees the kit become 10% lighter and 50% more stretchable than ever.
