Key striker delays signing Man Utd deal for absolutely bizarre reason

Marcus Rashford

Manchester United wonder kid Marcus Rashford has reportedly stalled contract talks with club until the summer as he wants to find agent before agreeing a deal. It is understood that the Red Devils have offered the youngster 10 times his current wages of £1,500 per week.

The 18-year-old to rose to prominence after netting seven goals in his last 13 games for Luis Van Gaal’s  side, and may now be joining an exclusive club, as ‘super-agent’ Jorge Mendes is said to be keen to add the youngster to the star studded list of people he represents.

The Portuguese agent, Mendes currently represents Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Diego Costa and Jose Mourinho who might be Rashford’s new coach if he is appointed by the end of the season. Mendes already has a close relationship with United that sterms back to the Sir Alex Ferguson’s era at Old Trafford, and has maintained ties with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Currently, Rashford is believed to be currently represented by his brother, Dwain Maynard. His rise to the limelight has accelerated magically, with his first team debut coming less than two months ago. The enthusiasm around Rashford’s prospects is so great that calls have been made for Roy Hodgson to pick him in the England squad for the European Championships coming up in France in June.

It looks rather unlikely though with strikers like Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy, though Roy Hodgson has also not ruled out the possibility of the youngster joining the three Lions squad.
