Arsenal Ready to Sign New Striker in January, Wenger is Lining up Bids for Two Targets

Arsenal finally has the confidence of the football world at their strong chances of winning the Premier League for the first time in 12 years. The Gunners though an improved and stronger team, at times falters and their weaknesses are often exposed.

This could be seen in December’s match against Southampton which they lost 4-0, and the recent 3-3 draw against Liverpool. Wenger’s men though maybe strong, but a few additions in different positions would only increase their chances of winning the league.

That said, a defensive midfielder has already been introduced in the squad in the form of Egypt international, Mohamed Elneny. However, an addition of a quality striker would do wonders for Wenger who wouldn’t have to worry if Giroud, or Walcott, gets injured.

Andriy Yarmolenko, Ukraine international, who currently plays for Dynamo Kiev has been on the shopping list of Arsenal for a long time now. It is reported by Metro that the winger is available at a price of £20.5million.

The attacker has also attracted interests from other premier league clubs such as Chelsea and Everton. However, German club Borussia Dortmund is considered to be his most likely destination.

The 26 year old provides the option of playing on the wings or a more central attacking role. His flexibility can be useful for Wenger if he considers to adapt on-field tactical changes.

Another Arsenal target has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League. Alexandre Lacazette who is a striker for Lyon has made a direct confession about wanting a transfer to the Premier League, according to Metro.

Arsenal have been admirers of him but Chelsea are also in the run to sign this player. The 24 year old scored 27 goals in 33 French Ligue 1 games last season and immediately caught attention of various clubs. He has 7 goals this season in the 16 games he has played so far. According to Sky Sports, Lacazette will be allowed to leave this summer provided that Lyon receives a decent deal for the player.
