Brazilian Superstar Becomes Hiddink’s First Signing as Player Agrees 5-Year Contract, Player Scored 26 Goals in 26 Matches This Season

Chelsea have almost secured their first signing of the January Transfer window. According to Spanish source Fichajes, the Blues are nearing towards completing a £30million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira.

The Blues have long been linked with a transfer for the Brazilian and several reports now claim that a deal is forthcoming. The report claims that the Brazilian duo of Willian and Oscar has convinced Teixeira to join them at Stamford Bridge.

He has been offered a five year deal by the club and will be the first signing during the second spell of manager Guus Hiddink at club. The 25-year old has been in red hot form this season for the Ukrainian club. He has scored 25 goals in 21 appearances in League and Champions League for his club.

He won’t be eligible to play in Champions League for the Blues this season, but will provide a much needed boost in the Premier League campaign for the London Club. The Blues claimed their first win of Hiddink’s era by defeating Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Palace on Sunday.

The Blues are currently 13 points off the top four, but the Dutchman believes that the qualification to Champions League is still a possibility for the League champions. He said: “It’s difficult because this league has become so strong; everyone can win from everyone. It’s very difficult to get there. It’s possible but there’s a long way to go.”

Alex Teixeira has represented Brazil at Under-17 and U-20 level, but he is yet to receive his first call up for the senior national team.

He joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2009, at the age of 19, for a transfer fee of six million Euros. Since then he has helped his club in winning five league titles. The current season has been his most productive yet as he has scored 26 goals in 26 appearances for his club.
