CF Who Was In London To Hold Arsenal Talks Could Join Arsenal, Akpom May Leave

German side Borussia Dortmund have reportedly been making plans to sign Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom in the January Transfer Window. Jurgen Klopp is said to be a big fan of Chuba Akpom and would be looking to lure the 19 year old starlet to Dortmund knowing they could also land the youngster for a small fee in the summer if Arsenal refuse to sell the youngster in this transfer window. The 19 year old British whose contract expires at the end of the summer is being admired by Dortmund Coach Jurgen Klopp and might find it hard to turn down a move to the German side if first-team football is offered.
Chuba Akpom has found it hard to feature for Arsenal this season having appeared for Arsenal five times this season failing to beat the likes of Welbeck, Giroud, Sanogo to a starting place. The British youth international started playing for Arsenal at the age of 6, playing for the Arsenal U18 at the age of 15 before going to play in the Arsenal U21 team and consequently making his competitive debut for Arsenal in a 3-1 Premier League win over Sunderland. Chuba Akpom can be regarded as one of the brightest players of his generation; the 19 year old can play anywhere upfront and is known for his quality finishing, great off the ball movements and good composure.
Due to Arsenal’s shortage of striker and Wenger’s reluctance to burn the cash, it would be wise to loan young Chuba Akpom out on loan to Dortmund and not sell him. Arsenal simply cannot risk selling Akpom and be like Manchester United who sold Pogba to Juventus only to end up regretting selling a great player that could solve their midfield problems. Few times I have found myself watching an Arsenal U21 match and I always end up being captivated by Chuba Akpom’s exceptional all-round brilliance and great performances.
However, no one will complain if Wenger sends the player to Dortmund in order to enable him sign Marco Reus. Marco Reus it would be recalled was close to joining Arsenal in the summer just before the window but got injured which put an end to the supposed move. The player was reportedly in London to hold talks with Wenger before the injury.
With the player showing his worth so far this season, Many Arsenal fans will be happy to have him don the colours of the club even if it means Akpom will have to go the other way.
