Deal done? Young supertalent to finalize deal with Gunners this week

Nigerian youngster, one of the country’s rising stars, Samuel Chukwueze (16), is coming to London in the next few days to finalize the deal with Arsenal and put his signature on a four-year contract.

Samuel Chukwueze showed his talent in the last years U17 World Cup held up in Chile, and along with his teammate Kelechi Nwakali, who already signed five-year deal for the Gunners, helped Nigeria U17 to win the trophy.

Chukwueze will not be able to sign a professional contract with Arsenal until he turns 18, but he will definitely benefit from playing in Arsenal’s setup. The youngster cited Arsenal’s history of promoting and developing young players as one of the reasons to be joining them:

Arsenal as you well know are a very good club and it will be good for my career since I will be able to learn many new things. I like Arsenal because they are a club who give young players the opportunity to showcase their talents and I believe I would be given the chance to play too.  “

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger was impressed by the Nigerian duo, and negotiations were started right after the U17 World Cup, but due to problems with Chukwueze’s visa, the  deal will be finalized  in the upcoming days.

Diamond Football Academy president Martin Apugo confirmed that Chukwueze is coming to London: “Chukwueze is still joining Arsenal, he will travel any moment from now to start training with them.”
