Shock! Liverpool & Chelsea Target Alex Teixeira to be Sold within 24hrs

Liverpool unsuccessfully tried to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira in January, and it has reported that they will reignite their interest in the Brazilian player in the summer.

However, recent reports claimed that the 26-year-old is close to sealing a move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning. But Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu dismissed those reports, and he has claimed that Teixeira will stay at the club until the end of the season.

“We haven’t sold Alex Teixeira,” Lucescu told Calciomercato.it.

“I am not aware of any negotiations with Chinese clubs – they are just the usual rumours which do the rounds during the transfer periods.

“The lad’s not going anywhere. He’s staying with us until the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, Kop legend John Barnes has urged the club to back manager Jurgen Klopp in the signing of Teixeira.

He told FootballFanCast: “If the manager likes him and he fits in to what he wants then they should go for him.

“I know he’s a very good player. He’s quick, he’s strong, but there are lots of players that are good. Obviously, he [Klopp] likes him, that’s why they went for him, but whether they went for him because they thought there was a chance in January and there are other targets for the summer, I don’t know.

“Klopp likes him, so I think he will go back for him in the summer.”
