While Chelsea are in search for a new manager and potential transfers, other clubs are keeping tabs on Blues’ players who are likely to leave the club in the summer.
Chelsea has already announced that they will not be renewing John Terry’s contract and the England skipper will be a free agent after the end of the season. However, the defender hasn’t announced his retirement, nor has he decided to stop playing.
In fact, Terry has stated that he would like to continue playing. This will obviously lead to other clubs wanting to sign the England international, but so far West Ham are the first ones to be linked with signing him.
According to Brentwood Gazzette, West Ham has expressed their desire to sign Terry, who has been one of the best defenders and leaders in the Premier League.
West Ham would be moving to the Olympic Stadium in the summer, and they are looking to up their game in the next season.
It is reported that they are intending to earn a place in the Champions League in their next campaign and signing of Terry would be a huge move towards that goal.
Terry’s close friends revealed the player is interested in the move as he hopes to stay in London and will likely turn down any offers coming from China or USA.
