Club Legend Confirms WORLD CLASS Star Will Play For Chelsea Next Season

Contrary to the opinion of many that Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper in the world, and De Gea the best in England, Arsenal footballing legend, Bob Wilson, believes Belgian young shot stopper, Thibaut Courtois, 23, of Chelsea is the best goal keeper in the world. According to talkSPORT, Wilson says Chelsea’s Courtois is ahead of Bayern’s Manuel Neuer and Manchester United’s David De Gea.

The tall Belgian who returned to Chelsea last summer from his three-year loan move to Atletico Madrid displaced Petr Cech and became The Blues No.1 goal keeper. He was in outstanding form and saved Chelsea on several occasions on their way to securing the English League title and the League Cup last term.

“I think he is ahead of  Manuel Neuer. Petr Cech is up there with those two”, Wilson was reported as saying by TalkSPORT. This claim by him is more evidential as Jose instantly made him the No.1 ahead of the more experienced and also brilliant Petr. In Courtois’ last season for Atletico, he kept 20 clean sheets in 37 appearances for the Madrid-based club, which in turn helped them to the La Liga title. He also got to the UEFA Champions League final in May, 2014, but lost to eventual winners, Real Madrid.

Wilson’s opinion also differs from that of many EPL followers, who believe Man United’s David De Gea is the best in the league. But at his young age, the Belgian has won several individual awards including “La Liga goalkeeper of the year 2013, La Liga Zamora trophy 2013, 2014. He was also included in the UEFA Champions League team in 2014, just to name a few.

Courtois’ displacement of Cech has, therefore, prompted the Czech to seek for a move away from The Blues to The Gunners. Courtois himself has spoken of his surprise at his own progress last week when he said “sometimes have to pinch myself to see if I’m not dreaming (Goal). He kept 12 cleans sheets in his first season for Chelsea, one more than United’s De Gea. Courtois is also the Belgian senior national team first choice goal keeper, ahead of Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet.
