Chelsea COMPLETES Transfer Of High Rated 6ft 2′ Defender

According to Chelsea’s official website, 19-year old Andreas Christensen, a defender, is set to move to German side Borussia Monchengladbach on a season long loan.

Chelsea, in the last couple of seasons, have sent a lot of young players out on loan to help their further development. The club is known for signing young players and sending them out on loan to some clubs in Europe; include Vitesse in the Dutch league.

The Dane, who signed for the Blues in 2012, is an integral member of the club’s academy. What a last couple of seasons he has had, winning the under-21 Premier League, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup since joining the London club three years ago. Christensen has also made two senior international appearances for his country, Denmark; taking part in this year’s European under-21 Championships in Czech Republic.

A loan move out is perhaps, the best decision the club could have taken, considering the fact that the 19-year old would have struggled to secure a starting shirt in the star-studded Blues team. Despite being 34, skipper John Terry is still rated as one of the most reliable defenders not only in Chelsea, but in the EPL as well, which makes it difficult for the Dane to break into the team this season.

Jose Mourinho’s concern is how to make his team more formidable in the present, and that explains why the Metro is linking the manager with a move for Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger.

Do you think a loan move for Andreas Christensen is best for him, considering his age?
