After Scoring 21 Goals Last Season, POWERFUL Striker Set To Join Manchester United

The Red Devils have resurrected their interests in Tottenham goal poacher Harry Kane and have made “discreet inquiries” as to the striker’s availability, Daily Mirror understands.

United are back in negotiations to sign Kane after rumours of an interest simmered down. The Old Trafford landlords submitted a bid of £45m for the England international striker, says Metro, but Spurs rebuffed the bid saying their coveted striker was staying.

Metro further reckon United want Kane to give a green light that he wants to join them before they go all in for his signature – which will likely require that the Red Devils cough up a fee around £50m.

Despite Louis van Gaal’s recent claim that a striker is not a priority at Old Trafford, it is understood the former Netherlands boss is secretly pursuing at least a striker – with Bayern duo of Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski also touted – as he is left with only Wayne Rooney as the club’s recognised striker after the exits of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie this summer.

Kane came into limelight last season after hitting 31 goals in all competition as he was the highest scoring Englishman last season in the Premier League. His brilliant form made Mauricio Pochettino install him as Spurs’ first-choice striker, dislodging Emmanuel Adebayor from the starting line-up.

Born in Chingford, England, the 22-year old striker will be an incredible asset to United, provided he signs, as the club would not have to rely only on Rooney. The former Everton youngster was sloppy and shoddy against Kane’s club at the weekend and he failed to make any real contribution.

Kane’s addition to the squad will make bookies and pundits alike, make United huge favourite for the title.

Van Gaal still has enough time as the transfer window closes in September. However, he should not drag it too long and make it ‘a process’ in order for Kane to quickly settle in and gel with the team. That is if Spurs accede!
