WORLD Class Manchester United Striker Target To Sign, £110,000-A-Week Deal Close

One frequently-asked question that in recent times about Manchester United is ‘why are players snubbing the club for other team?’ That question has been left unanswered. Even though it may be argued that United’s comatose approach to the Pedro transfer made Chelsea snap up the Spaniard, what do we reckon of Nicolas Otamendi? And Sergio Ramos and Pepe who have instead extended their deals at Real Madrid? Even Barcelona defender employed a tactic of saying the Red Devils were interested in him to get himself a new deal at the Nou Camp.

Now before judgement is passed that it is the method of Louis van Gaal players are apprehensive of, one key targets for United this summer – who came to the limelight under the Dutch boss – is also set to stay at his club and this will cause more frustration for the club – who since the free transfer of goalkeeper Sergio Romero have failed to bring in any other players – and their fans who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of a top notch striker before September 2.

Citing German publication Bild, the Daily Express is reporting that Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller will be offered an improved contract at the Allianz Arena to fend off interest from Manchester United. And this is coming hours after it emerged van Gaal has been handed a €100m war-chest for a marquee signing, supposedly Germany international star. Now if this is not a big blow, what else is?

Bild say Muller will get an increase in his wage for committing his future to Bayern. The 25-year old is currently on a weekly take-home of £110,000 a week but that is set for a massive increase if he extends his deal till 2019.

The Bundesliga champions have already snubbed United’s initial offer of £60m, as per reports, and are not prepared to entertain any talks of an improved offer from the Premier League club, having sold Bastian Schweinsteiger to the Red Devils for a bargain fee earlier on in the summer.

United brought in Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and the aforementioned former Bayern midfield icon before signing goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a free.

Up next for Louis van Gaal and his charges is a tricky trip to the Liberty stadium to face Garry Monk’s high-flying Swansea City who defeated the Red Devils in the home and away Premier League fixtures last term.
