Carrick Starts – Manchester United Likely Line Up For Arsenal Clash

Sunday the 4th of October will see two Premier League giants in form of Manchester United and Arsenal square up against each other in the Barclays Premier League. The history of the rivalry between the two clubs makes Sunday’s match highly anticipated. Manchester United have constantly had the edge over the Gunners for a long period of time and will be looking to increase their number of wins over Arsenal by one on Sunday. The Red Devils clearly have the momentum in their favour with 3 wins in their pockets thus far. The Old Trafford outfit will be looking to make it 4 consecutive wins in a row on Sunday and we try to predict the United team to deliver that win.

Goalkeeper – Spaniard David De Gea will take his usual position in goal over Sergio Romero. The Spaniard has featured in all United’s matches since his contract extension and the importance of Sunday’s match puts him in the reckoning to start.

Defence – Here is the tricky part, injuries to Rojo and Shaw have left United limited in their left-back options. Daley Blind has the ability to play as a left-back but his blissful partnership formed with Smalling has prevented Van Gaal from pushing the Dutchman out wide. Nevertheless, Italian full-back Darmian should return to his right-back position after Antonio Valencia’s horrendous showing on Wednesday while Ashley Young should fill the left-back slot. Blind and Smalling should definitely continue their blissful partnership and will be hoping to notch up another clean sheet.

Midfield – Michael Carrick missed United’s match against Wolfsburg due to an injury but is said to be available for the match against Arsenal. I dont see Louis Van Gaal rushing the English man back from injury so that means we should expect a Schweinsteiger – Schnerderlin pairing again. Further up in midfield, Wayne Rooney will take up his No 10 role while Memphis Depay and Juan Mata fill up the left and right wing respectively.

Attack – French sensation Anthony Martial will be the one spearheading the United attack, the 19 year old has not scored in two matches and will be looking to ensure it doesn’t extend to a 3rd.
