Confirmed – £200,000-A-Week Star Could Have Been A Liverpool Player

Raheem Sterling’s agent, Aidy Ward may have beamed the spotlight on the Manchester City forward with his recent comments which clearly suggest that Raheem Sterling should still be a Liverpool player.

Raheem Sterling became the most expensive English player of all time when he left Anfield for the Etihad in a £49 million deal as well as wages of £200,000 a week.

The 20-year-old rejected a new contract offer to extend his five-year stay with Liverpool and instead joined Manchester City generating much hate remarks for himself and his agent, Aidy Ward.

Ward, who was accused numerous times of badly advising his client during the process, has spoken out for the first time since the move, blaming Liverpool for “sly remarks.”

He said, “Raheem could’ve stayed, he should be at Liverpool.” “I think for me it was like he was being told to be a good boy and sign a contract.

In December I spoke to Liverpool and said we’ll sign a contract if there is a buy-out clause – those clauses are now common practice. They said no to that.

Then there was an underhandedness, there were sly remarks. In press conferences, Brendan told everyone Raheem would sign – why do that? I knew, Brendan knew and Liverpool knew there was an issue.

Right now he probably should be a Liverpool player, but he’s not and he’s in a great place at City.

Only Steven Gerrard (9) scored more Premier  League goals for Liverpool last season than  Raheem Sterling (7).

The England international came through the Liverpool youth academy and has scored seven and assisted as many in his final Premier League campaign with the Merseysiders last season, as Brendan Rodgers’ men finished sixth in England’s top flight.

The former Queens Park Rangers forward bagged a hat-trick last weekend in City’s 5-1 thrashing of Bournemouth, taking his goals up to four in the Premier League as Manchester City currently occupy the top of the English Premier League table.

Raheem Sterling has created 15 chances in  the Premier League so far this season, with  only Jesus Navas (20), Yaya Toure (17) and  David Silva (16) surpassing him at the Etihad.
