Costa, Willian & Fabregas Dropped – Chelsea Likely Line Up For Maccabi

Chelsea may have found back their winning strategy as they recorded a win against Norwich in their English Premier League encounter and also played better than they have done in recent times. The Blues will however need to build on this if they want to get their campaign together again this season. Taking into consideration that the Blues go to battle Tottenham Hotspurs next in the English Premier League, this should be Chelsea line-up against Maccabi Tel Aviv for their Champions League match if they hope to beat the Israeli side.

Goalkeeper

Asmir Begovic will have to continue between the posts for Chelsea as number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is still out of action with an injury as against earlier rumors that he will make the squad against Maccabi. The former Stoke goalkeeper will hope he can perform better than he has done in recent times for the club.

Defence

Ivanovic should normally be rested for the Tottenham match as the trip could set him back, with him just returning from an injury, but the right-back did not play well enough against Norwich and seemed to be struggling for fitness and confidence, so it might make sense to have him play today to get back his fitness and confidence.

Kurt Zouma should have gotten back his state of mind after the Paris incident and should definitely be given a chance beside Gary Cahill at the heart of defence while John Terry should be rested for Spurs.

Kenedy would have been good at left-back but this is too risky and the match is one that Chelsea must win if they intend to qualify, so Azpilicueta will have to start at left-back and maybe be susbstituted later on.

Midfield

Ramires should be rested for this match but with Nemanja Matic still struggling for form, he should be started and maybe paired with youngster, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Pedro, Willian and Diego Costa should all definitely be rested for this match but Eden Hazard definitely needs to keep playing till he gets back to his former self who won the PFA player of the year. He should be started with Kenedy in the wings and the two of them should be able to switch well enough to confuse the Maccabi defence while Cesc Fabregas should start in attacking midfield.

Striker

Loic Remy should definitely be allowed to start today as Falcao is not going to make the match too due to his injury. Hopefully, the French striker can be the one to save the day.

Chelsea however needs to go with a very good bench and considering the options Mourinho has at the moment, this should not be a problem.
