Chelsea set to complete transfer of powerful 6ft 2″ tall DM who has won UCL before

Recent reports from Turkey are making claims that Turkish League giants Galatasaray may be ready to awaken their interest in Chelsea and Nigerian international midfielder John Obi Mikel and they want him in the club in the January transfer window according to news from Turkish media outfit Turkish Football.

The Turkish giants were targeting Mikel in the summer but seemed to lose interest for some reason or another but seem to have found out that they need the central midfielder after all as they seek a replacement for their midfielder Felipe Melo, who they sold to Serie A giants Inter Milan in the summer transfer window. It is believed that Galatasaray will make an offer in the January transfer window and hope they can sign him quickly.

Mikel has been a Chelsea faithful and it is unclear if the Blues will allow him move in the winter transfer window especially with Mourinho recently claiming that he will not allow his midfielder leave until he runs out his contract in 2017. The 28-year-old could however be ready to jump on the opportunity as he has been relegated to the bench since the beginning of the season and might want some more first-team opportunities which he will definitely get if he joins Galatasaray.

He could also be tempted to join Wesley Sneijder and Lukas Podolski and maybe kick-start his career again. Chelsea will also likely sign some more players in January and this will endanger Mikel’s opportunities in Stamford Bridge and this might also force him to leave but in my opinion, it is best if he just goes now that he still has something to offer.
