Bundesliga Midfielder Finally Moving to Arsenal? Chairperson Reveals Player Could Leave in January

Arsenal have been chasing Bayern Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender for years now. Almost every transfer window the Gunners are linked with a move for the German international but has failed to bring the player to Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are finally given some encouragement after Bayer Leverkusen chairperson accepted that the player could be allowed to leave Leverkusen for a big club.

Bayer Leverkusen can’t be as arrogant to say that we are creating world stars, and they will retire here,” said club chairperson Michael Schade.

“If we are able to create a world star or top player, then one day this player wants to play for one of the top [clubs in the world], of course.”

Leverkusen’s current stand is quite different from the stance they have had adapted in the past seasons in vehemently opposing any possible transfer move for their midfielder.

The 26-year old has been with Leverkusen since 2009.

He missed out on German national team’s World Cup winning campaign due to a thigh injury.
