Daniel Sturridge Injury

Liverpool suffers yet another injury blow

Reports in England on Tuesday evening suggest Sturridge faces a spell in the sidelines, due to a fresh hamstring injury. Sturridge, who has missed most of Liverpool’s games this season due to injuries, sustained a hamstring problem during his brief second half cameo appearance against Newcastle on Sunday.

The England international has been plagued with injury throughout his career having missed fifty eight games through injury since joining Liverpool in January 2013. Liverpool boss Jürgen klopp said last week that Sturridge must learn what is “serious pain” and what is “only pain”, this latest spell on the sidelines is the eight separate injury in his career as a Liverpool player.

There is no set time on a return for the England forward, but most outlets are reporting that he is targeting a return within ‘weeks’, which would likely rule him out of Liverpool’s festive fixtures. The reds have eleven games between now and the end of January.

Daniel Sturridge injuries are becoming a burden for the club, as it is speculated by Liverpool legendary defender Jamie Carragher, and a section of the clubs fans believe that Liverpool might have to sell Sturridge at some point. Sturridge has been a revelation since joining Liverpool from Chelsea but injury problems have hampered his progress, he will be missing during the festive period, with a hectic couple of weeks coming up this December, Liverpool would have to make do without their most consistent striker.
