Deal Agreed In Principle, Manchester United January Target Agrees Deal

Manchester United are set to miss out on Polish and Torino defender Kamil Glik, as the 27 year old is expected to extend his contract at Torino. The 27 year old had a terrific season with Torino last season, which earned him interest from several major clubs in Europe. Bavarian giants Bayern Munich were reportedly favourites to land Kamil Glik in a bid to replace Brazilian defender Dante who left earlier in the transfer window to Wolfsburg with Manchester United also providing stiff competition for Bayern over the signing of Kamil Glik.

Having failed to land any central defender in the just concluded transfer window, it is reported that Louis Van Gaal was looking to increase his efforts and make an improved bid for the Polish International in the January transfer window.

However much to the dismay of Louis Van Gaal, recent reports have claimed that Kamil Glik is on the verge of closing in on a new deal with Torino, which should definitely put an end to the rumours that the 27 year old is exit-bound. According to reports, the deal is agreed in principle. The new deal to be signed by Glik will fetch the Polish man a sum of £20,000 pounds per week.

Since joining Torino from Palermo in July 2011, the 27 year old has gone on to make 139 appearances for the club, scoring a total of 13 goals in the process. Kamil Glik has been praised for his mobile ability despite his great physicality and his strength lies in his aerial ability as well as his marking ability.
