Liverpool May Sign £25m Striker As Player’s Club Shops For Replacement

West Brom has had a bid for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy turned down. The Baggies, who are reportedly looking for a replacement for their star man, Saido Berahino who is looking increasingly set to leave the Hawthorns as Tottenham and Liverpool circle. Both teams have struggled for goals this season with Liverpool in particular suffering most.

After the inevitable departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, Daniel Sturridge had been expected to shoulder a large chunk of the goalscoring responsibility borne by the mercurial Uruguayan last season. However, injuries have limited the Englishman influence and the trio of attacking talent purchased by Rodgers have failed to fire with Mario Balotelli the worst culprit.

Tottenham too have suffered this season for lack of goals as Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado have not been able to produce the goals for which Spurs paid handsomely for them to provide. In contrast Berahino has been a revelation this season starring in a West Brom team that is faring well with life in the English top flight while weighing in with important goals and assists against the Division’s best teams.

Although West Brom have always insisted the player is not up for sale unless a bid of £25m is made for the player, it is believed Liverpool have a strong chance of signing the player since as Liverpool owners are willing to pay whats required in order to get the striker and try to savage their season.
