Breaking: Manchester United hold talks with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Manchester United are in for sensational striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Red Devils are keen to bolster their options upfront. What a coincidence, this same side let Robin van Persie  and high flying Javier Hernandez leave this season as they were deemed surplus. Their ability upfront has often lacked . Rooney, Although amongst the Premier leagues and England’s  all time top goal – scorers, it just has not ticked for the English man during this campaign.

Age is not doing him any justice.  However, Anthony Martial who was brought in for a mouth – watering £56 million including bonuses has had an incredible debut season. Additionally Marcus Rashford has burst onto the scene with match – winning performances that have earned him praise from Brazilian Legend Ronaldo. However, the Red Devils still feel they lack firepower up front.

Manchester United look to have failed in their pursuit of Aubameyeng. The Red Devils had opened talks with Dortmund over a possible transfer for their free – scoring forward yet the striker has his heart set on the Spanish capital. It is understood that the Gabon striker has a life – long dream to play for Real Madrid. United  have reportedly offered Aubameyeng a wage of £200,000 weekly in an attempt to persuade him to switch to England.

The striker has notched up an impressive 40 goals in just 46 appearances this season- it’s no wonder Europe’s top teams are after him. However, the German side are looking to tie down their star man for at least an additional year should he not leave for Madrid.

United have not been too discouraged for missing out on the Gabon striker. they have been linked with some prolific strikers in recent months such as Zlatan Ibrahimović, Antoine Griezmann, Romelu Lukaku and more recently Aubameyeng. It seems they mean business and the fans will be hoping a move can materialise as all of the aforementioned plays can definitely improve an underachieving Manchester United side.
Another thing they have in common is that they won’t come cheap.  Ibrahimović will expect a bumper wage while Everton are not willing to let Lukaku leave despite his desire to move on. The Merseyside club are reportedly demand a fee of £65 Million.

It seems United will have to dig deep into their transfer budget in order to land an Aubameyeng alternative.
