Manchester United target Thiago to Bayern?

Some reports from Spain this morning have claimed that Barcelona’s young star, Thiago Alcantara, will be announced as a Bayern Munich player later today.

Whilst it would make some sense for Thiago to link up Barcelona legend, Pep Guardiola, who the player believes would be most capable of helping him develop as a midfielder technically, there are several arguments against the deal too.

Firstly, Guardiola has repeatedly denied any interest in the player. Secondly, Thiago would be competing for a place in the starting XI with Mario Götze, Toni Kroos and Javi Martinez. The whole reason why Thiago is keen to leave Barcelona is for first team football and Manchester United would be in the best position to offer him this.

“People have to know that Barca players are not leaving for money or desire. There are two possibilities: they dump you or you feel like you should be playing and Barcelona do not,” remarked Guardiola a few days ago.

  1. So frustrating now,it will be same as usual with the talented youngsters we get linked with only to lose out because we never capitalize when we get the chance. Happens every year you would think we are used to it now it was the same with bale before spurs,Lucas last year now looking like thiago just hope we don’t do what the counsel estate did last year and just buy for sake of buying.

  2. Long time no see :) I would like to see them fighting but 2 years before. This should really come in handy :)
